About Me

This is the first time I have written to publish. We all write .. all the time .. but these books came about because of a little grandbaby that is on the way. It should have been a ‘baby’ book, but it somehow morphed into a more fun factual book on our quirky, wonderful and unique wildlife.

When I am not writing, I volunteer with a local wildlife organisation. I work on a hotline (helpline for people to call) dealing with sick and injured wildlife. I also do occasional transport and rescues and work alongside an experienced trauma carer in the wildlife ambulance on some weekends.  Becoming a carer may be next on my agenda.

I am also a member of one of the local Rotary clubs. This time helping in fundraising and community projects aimed to help the less fortunate humans in our society.

I grew up in Mumbai, then got married and moved to Papua New Guinea as a young adult, and then moved to Brisbane, Australia for our first baby (who is now having one of her own).

I love this country. The people are generous and have a sense of humour that is quite unmatched by any other world citizen. When you think of Australians, you think of resilience and kindness in times of trouble. That is what I choose to focus on.

Being part of a rescue organisation and helping wildlife is a wonderful outlet for me. Be it a crow or a possum, a snake or a bat, every living thing on this planet adds value and just because they don’t ‘serve’ humans or are not ‘cute’ or ‘cuddly’ doesn’t make them any less valuable. Take away any one species, and the imbalance will impact everyone in the long run.

This is why I wrote these books. I hope every young person gets excited and becomes more aware of the wonderful world we live in. The future of our planet depends on this. Thank you for being here and being part of my journey too.
